Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a technology that does not require any wires. It allows you to exchange data with another person, that is close enough to you, it does this buy using short wavelength radio transmissions, which then mean only people that you want to send items to are the only people receiving it.
It was created in 1994, by Ericsson which is a telecoms vendor, it is generally used in phone these days, therefore most people that have a recent mobile phone, now have the power of bluetooth at there finger tips.

The benefits of Bluetooth is that you can send and receive items via a mobile device that has bluetooth with ease, also you can connect the phone to a hands-free device that you can talk to people with out having to answer your mobile device, therefore you can talk to someone with your bluetooth device with out having to take your phone out of your pocket.
However the draw backs to bluetooth is that when your are using the hands-free device you have to have your bluetooth on, therefore people can find your phone and then they can hack your phone and find out your details if you have them on your phone. Also with bluetooth you will be able to talk on your phone while driving, but even though it is hands free you can still be distracted, from concentrating on the road.

Email Vs IM

E-Mail stands for Electronic Mail. Emails are used for sending text, images and other forms of multimedia, to other people via the internet or other computers on the network.

The advantages of Email are as follows:
1. You can send someone an email when they are not by their computer, or an electronic device that they can acquire they emails. So that when they get to their computer they can see the email, and then they can reply when they get it and send you one back for you to read.
2. On Emails you can send attachments for another person to see, such as sending an image, that you want the other person to see, then they will have that picture to, also you could send a video.
The disadvantages of Email are:
1. If you try send a video via an email, the problem you may have is that the video will be to big a file size for the email to attach and send, though for you would have to shrink the file size, and this could distort the video so it will not be as good.
2. The second would be that when you sned the email, you cannot tell when the other person has received the email, therefore if the email is important, and needs to be replied to, you will not know if the person has received it until the reply, and you could be waiting until after the importace of the email has run out.

IM stands for Instant Messaging. IMs are used for talking to people that are on at the same time as you and they respond straight away and you can talk like a face-to-face chat.

The disadvantages of IMs are:
1. If the person that you want to talk to is not on then you will have to wait until they come on and then you will be able to talk to them.
2. With IMs you can send item over the chat, however if the person that is sending the items, or the person receiving the items should happen to go offline then, the item that is being sent will stop. If the persons internet connection is not good then they could be trying to send the items for a long time.
However the advantages of IMs are:
1. you can talk to someone the other side of the planet and you would still be able to talk to them like they where right next to you, and if you have a web cam on you computer, then you would be able to see the person as well as talk to them, which makes it seem more personal.
2. Also IMs are good to talk to people that you might have lost contact with over the years and want to talk to them again.

Creating a Style Sheet

Today I had to make a logo for Storm Tracker 7. to do this i had to learn that the style sheet is very important to make a picture or logo for your picture. To make it took some time, as there where lots of diffferent things to do like, make the text 3D and making the lightning using the filter>clouds tool.

I also learned that to make the logo you have to be precise and if you miss a step, then you could make the whole thing not work, and if you follow instructions on it, then it will work.

3G

3G stands for 3rd Generation, but its proper name is International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000)

The History
NTT DoCoMo a Japan Branded FOMA , where the first pre-commerical 3G network provider, this was on 1st October 2001, even thpught it was the first it was somewhat limited in the scope that it had.

The First European pre-commercail was at the Isle Of Man, by Manx Telecom. The first commerical network in europe was opened for business by Telenor in December 2001.

The Applications
Some of the applications that were not previously available due to the lack of bandwidth:
Mobile TV - the provider redirects a TV channel directly to the phone of the subscriber, where it then can be watched
Video On Demand - the subscriber's phone is sent a movie from the provider.
Video Conferencing - Subscribers can talk to each other aswell as see each other.
Tele-medicine - a isolated subscriber can have advice from the providers

I have learnt that, GPRS is always on when you have your phone on with you, also GPRS can enhance the power of the 2G network, so it acts more like a 3G network would.

WAP & GSM

Wap is short for Wireless Application Protocol, this is most used for web access. WAP can be used for looking at:
Email by mobile phone
Tracking of stock-market prices
Sports results
News headlines new
Music downloads
While you are on the move with your mobile phone.

GSM is short for Global System for Mobile Communications it was origanally called Groupe Spécial Mobile, is the most popular standard for mobile telephony systems in the world. it was created in 1982, it was designed by the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT).

Forum

Forum are good because you can share information with other people, then they can comment on your post, so you know what can be improved or what is awesome.
The advantages about forums are that they can be active even when the own of the forum is not online. Also only people that are signed up to the forum can actually comment on the forum that has been started.
The disadvantages of forums are that if you have a forum which has a lot of comments, there are going to be some comments that are not relevant to the forum, also if you do not stats how long the forum will go on for then the forum could go on for weeks or even month.

What important informoation from W3C will you now consider before you produce a website?

Worldwide web consortium

I no not to put in more than 3 flashes per second, so people are less likely to have a seizures. There are 8 barriers that you have to over some when you make a web site, they are:
1.no internet access
2.compatibility
3.language
4.limited resource
5.interests
6.funding
7.disability
8.countries laws

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines to allow people to improve access for everyone not just for average person. People how suffer for a long term disability often use the computer/internet more compatible for a key objective. Guidelines are to keep people on the right path to learn from the mistakes of those before them to create the user wants.
